Dawdon Dene

The house shown was originaly Bengal House and was built as a public house in 1869; it was later altered by R B Brydon who worked for the Londonderry Estate. He was famous for breading Clydesdale horses, the most famous being Bonnie Buchlyvie. It made 5,000 guineas when it was sold. The house originally had twin roofs but was converted to the single peak we see today. It is now a private residence and its name has changed to "The Dene".
